The Umax Astra 5800 is a legendary flatbed scanner from the early 2000s. Known for its exceptional 1200 x 2400 dpi optical resolution and 42-bit color depth, it was a favorite among graphic designers, archivists, and home office users. Two decades later, many of these workhorses are still functioning perfectly—mechanically, they are tanks.
A: Only VueScan works reliably on Windows 11 without disabling security features. The community driver breaks after every cumulative update.
