The plot thickens a year later when one of his students, 16-year-old Paolina, becomes infatuated with him. She begins leaving him love notes in various languages—the titular "I love you in all the languages of the world". Complications arise when Gilberto falls for Margherita, an animal psychologist at the local zoo, only to discover she is Paolina’s mother.
